Anyone here from INDIA who can answer a question?
My friend who is Indian got married and she had 2 wedding dresses. The white one to get married and a red one for the reception. (party afterwards). My question is WHY do they have a red one?

She’s Christian and not Hindu.
I suggest that your friend had bought white dress for ceremony and red dress for reception. Red color is considered to be the color or fertility and prosperity in hindu culture, so it is traditional color of marriage dress for the bride during the rece. White saree with red and gold embroidery symbolises purity and is used at wedding ceremony.
